Harvesting is a custom skill found in the Revival Runescape Classic server. It is similar to the Farming skill found in Oldschool Runescape and Runescape 3, however instead of growing your own herbs, trees and general produce you instead harvest it from various locations using a variety of tools.

Overview

Harvesting allows a player to obtain certain items such as unidentified herbs, fruits, berries, vegetables and sugar cane that can be used in a variety of ways to further a players progression. Mostly, this skill is used in tandem with Herblaw to gather all of the herbs and secondaries needed to create potions, however it can also be used to obtain items for cooking and quests.

Getting started

To get started, purchase some harvesting tools from any Gardener found around Runescape (see below). Once you have your tools you can start to harvest your desired produce. If you're just starting out, you can find a patch of farmland near the crossroads North of Draynor that contains potatoes, garlic, onions and tomatoes. Simply right click > Harvest {X} or click on the harvest spot to begin.

Harvesting a desired produce at lower levels may result in higher failure rates to harvest but as you progress the chance to harvest an item gets higher and higher. After a while the spot will become damaged and you will be unable to harvest again until it has grown back. This is usually shown as 'damaged ground' for allotments, or exhausted/depleted for bushes, fruit trees or sugar cane.

Tools

Most - but not all - harvesting spots require some sort of tool to help harvest the produce. For harvesting spots that don't require a specific item to harvest it, using that item will greatly increase the chances of harvesting the desired produce.

Required for harvesting the item

  • Herb clippers - Used for harvesting herbs at herb spots, limpwurt roots, seaweed and snape grass.

Not required for harvesting the item, but makes it easier to harvest

  • Hand trowel - Used for bushes and allotments.
  • Fruit picker - Used for harvesting fruit trees.

Gardeners

Gardeners can be found wandering in various locations around Runescape, including;

  • Varrock castle courtyard
  • Lumbridge castle courtyard
  • Camelot castle courtyard
  • Ardounge castle courtyard
  • Hemenster
  • Yanille gardens

Soil

Harvesting nodes like fruit trees, bushes, and allotments can occasionally become weakened. If you have a bucket of soil or a watering can, the correct item is applied automatically; otherwise, the node skips a production cycle.

Soil boosts a node’s strength, giving a small chance to earn extra produce. Once reinforced, the spot stays “soiled” for up to three minutes as long as you continue harvesting.

Empty buckets can be filled by using them on soil mounds. Two mounds are located near the flax fields in Catherby, one is found in the Ardougne allotment and one is found in the Champions Guild south of Varrock.

Produce locations

Below is a list of all of the produce spots found in Runescape for different produce types. Please note, the time between respawn is when the spot has been completely depleted.

How to bless grapes (Wine of Saradomin)

  • Wear full Monk’s robes
  • Stand inside the Edgeville Monastery building with the altar
  • Use a strung, blessed Symbol of Saradomin on the grapes

Additional note

  • Each grape converted (blessed or cursed) drains 1 Prayer level.

Allotments

Allotment locations can be found...

  • In the farm North of Ardougne
  • In and around Lumbridge, and near Draynor village
Allotment Level XP Respawn Ard Nodes Lum Nodes HP Healed
Potato 1 90 15s 3 5 -

It is worth nothing that the original in-game allotment locations that existed in the original version of Runescape Classic DO NOT count as harvesting locations.

Herbs, snape grass, limpwurt root and seaweed

These produce types can be found in various locations around Runescape and are mostly used in the Herblaw and crafting skill.

Herbs

Herbs have no set respawn time, and can respawn anywhere between 60 - 240 seconds. There are no specific herb patches, but each herb patch can give any herb up to Dwarf Weed based on your harvesting level. The higher the herb, the less likely it is to receive it from harvesting.

Herb spot locations

  • Three in Taverly
  • Two on the west side of Varrock castle
  • 4(?) in the new dungeon connecting Karamja and Port Sarim dungeons
Herb Level XP
Guam 9 62.5
Marrentill 14 75
Tarromin 19 90
Harralander 26 120
Rannar Weed 32 152.5
Irit Leaf 44 242.5
Avantoe 50 307.5
Kwuarm 56 390
Cadantine 67 600

Snape grass

Snape grass can be found in Taverly near the druids altar, the west side of Varrock castle grounds and just south of the Champions Guild south of Varrock. Herb clippers are required to harvest them.

Grass Type Level XP
Snape Grass 61 410

Seaweed

Seaweed is a useful item for creating vials through the crafting skill. Seaweed spots can be found on Entrana near where the ship docks, and near the entrance to the lost city dungeon. Herb clippers are required to harvest them.

Weed Type Level XP
Seaweed 23 105

Crown of foliage

The Crown of foliage is an enchanted Dragonstone crown that can aid with harvesting herbs from herb patches. It gives a chance to harvest triple the number of herbs you would normally harvest, and has 2,000 charges. There are tiers of herbs that deplete the charges, but in general it is a very useful item when you are looking to bulk harvest herbs. When coupled with the Harvesting cape you can purchase at level 99 for 99,000gp, that can further multiply the number of herbs you receive up to 9.

Limpwurt root

Limpwurt roots can only be found in Taverly, where there are three spots found near the Druids that inhabit the area. Herb clippers are required to harvest them.

Root Type Level XP
Limpwurt Root 42 180
