Magic
Magic in Revival RSC gains a new spell, a whole new range of jewellery to enchant, potions of its own, and – for those lucky enough to own the wand of destruction – automatic spellcasting.
This page covers what is new or different in Revival RSC. Everything else about the skill works as it did in the original RuneScape Classic.
Enchanting rings and crowns
[edit]The five jewellery enchantment spells were only ever used on amulets. They now work on rings and the new crowns too.
| Spell | Magic level | Ring | Crown |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enchant level-1 jewellery | 7 | Sapphire ring → Opal ring → | Sapphire crown → |
| Enchant level-2 jewellery | 27 | Emerald ring → | Emerald crown → |
| Enchant level-3 jewellery | 49 | Ruby ring → | Ruby crown → |
| Enchant level-4 jewellery | 57 | Diamond ring → | Diamond crown → |
| Enchant level-5 jewellery | 68 | Dragonstone ring → your choice of or | Dragonstone crown → your choice of or |
The level-5 spell opens a menu to choose the result; closing the menu costs no runes.
New spell: Enchant level-6 amulet
[edit]A 49th spell sits at the end of the spellbook. Enchant level-6 amulet needs level 85 Magic and 50 death runes, 50 blood runes and 50 air runes, and gives 12,500 experience. It can only be cast on a shadowstone amulet, turning it into the enraged shadowstone amulet – the best melee amulet in the game.
Cursing talismans
[edit]Casting Curse (level 19) or Enfeeble (level 73) on a Runecraft talisman turns it into a cursed or enfeebled talisman, which trade the talisman – and in the enfeebled case the runes too – for double or five times the Runecraft experience. The spell uses its runes and gives its experience as usual.
Autocasting
[edit]While wielding the wand of destruction, cast any strike, bolt, blast or wave spell on a monster and the spell keeps re-casting by itself, roughly every 2.7 seconds. Holding the orb of speed in your shield hand cuts that to 0.9 seconds. Both are rare drops from Valkor.
- Every cast uses runes and gives full experience, exactly as if you had clicked it.
- It works from up to 5 tiles away, on monsters only.
- It stops if you enter melee combat, take off the wand, run out of runes, or the target dies or moves out of range.
- After 12 casts in a row your concentration wavers and it stops. Cast the spell again to carry on.
- A spell that fails locks you out for the usual 20 seconds, after which autocasting resumes.
Magic potions
[edit]| Potion | Herblaw level | Boost per dose |
|---|---|---|
| 76 | Magic +3 and 10% | |
| 85 | Magic +5 and 15% | |
| 95 | Magic +6 and 17% | |
| 98 | Magic, Attack, Strength, Defense and Ranged +10 and 22% |
Other changes
[edit]- The Magic cape gives a 15% chance that any spell – including teleports and enchantments – uses no runes at all.
- With a Smithing cape, Superheat Item has a 33% chance to use half the coal.
- Telekinetic Grab does not work inside Valkor's arena, and ironmen cannot use it on other players' items.
- The Enraged shadow giant is immune to magic, and Valkor is immune to it in his first and final phases.
- Life Sap heals you from magic damage as well as melee and ranged.
