Fishing
Appearance
Fishing in Revival RSC repeats by itself, and to balance that, fishing spots can now dry up and move.
This page covers what is new or different in Revival RSC. Everything else about the skill works as it did in the original RuneScape Classic.
Fishing spots can move
[edit]Like the other gathering skills, one click keeps going by itself – see batched skilling for how many actions you get at each level. To stop anyone fishing one spot forever, each catch has a small chance of drying the spot up. It turns into a rock for a few seconds and then returns, so you may need to step to the next spot. A batch also ends if you run out of bait.
| Spot | Catches | Chance to dry up per catch | Returns after |
|---|---|---|---|
| Net and bait | 0.4% | 4 seconds | |
| Lure and bait | 0.8% | 8 seconds | |
| Cage and harpoon | 1.6% | 16 seconds | |
| Big net | Mackerel, cod, bass and the rest of the big net catch | 0.4% | 32 seconds |
| Harpoon at big net spots | 2.8% | 32 seconds | |
| Lava eel spots | Lava eels | Never | - |
Fishing spots are shared – if a spot dries up while you are mid-cast, that attempt catches nothing.
New uses for fish
[edit]- Any fish can be ground with a pestle and mortar into fish oil, used to make runecraft potions. Bigger fish give more oil, and raw fish give more than cooked.
- A giant carp is one of the ingredients of seaweed soup, one of the best foods in the game.
- Randolph in Varrock centre exchanges giant carp, lava eels, manta rays and sea turtles for certificates.
