Settings and social
Revival RSC adds many new settings for customising how the game looks and sounds, along with a number of ways to keep in touch with other players – server-wide announcements, global chat, an online list, clans and parties.
Settings
Hover over the wrench icon, the leftmost of the icons in the top-right corner, to open the settings panel. Click the heading to switch between the Social and General tabs, and use the mouse wheel to scroll. The Android app has a third Android tab.
Most settings are saved to your account, so they follow you between computers. Scaling and Stack Tooltips are saved on the computer you are playing on instead.
New settings
These settings are new to Revival RSC.
Sound rare drop
A special sound plays when you receive a rare drop. Sound rare drop lets you keep that sound while every other sound effect is muted: switch Sound effects off, and the Sound rare drop option appears beneath it. It is on by default. With sound effects on, the rare drop sound simply plays along with everything else.
The sound plays for:
- The drops that are announced to the whole server – see rare drops below
- Valuable drops: a half of a key, either half of the dragon square shield, a dragonstone, a rune spear, a dragon medium helmet, a large dragon helmet, a dragon 2-handed sword, dragon plate mail legs or an uncut shadowstone
- A boss pet item dropping
This option resets to on each time you start the game.
Ground Items
Filters which items are drawn on the ground. Each click moves to the next mode.
| Mode | What you see |
|---|---|
| Show ALL | Everything. This is the default. |
| Hide ALL | No ground items at all |
| Only Bones | Only bones, big bones, bat bones and dragon bones |
| No Bones | Everything except those four kinds of bones |
| No Ashes | Everything except ashes |
Items hidden by this filter are also left out of Stack Tooltips.
Scaling
Enlarges the whole game window, for high resolution monitors. It is available on the PC client only. Use the [ - ] and [ + ] buttons beside Scaling to change the size.
Scaling type chooses how the picture is enlarged:
- Integer – whole steps only (1x, 2x, 3x ...), keeping every pixel perfectly sharp. This is the default.
- Bilinear and Bicubic – smoothed scaling in half steps, from 1x up to 4x.
The largest size offered depends on how big your screen is.
Stack Tooltips
Shows a see-through label over piles of items on the ground, listing everything in the pile as amount × item name with a small icon – so you can see what is on a tile without right-clicking it. It is off by default.
A label appears over any pile of two or more items, and over single items unless they are bones or ashes. The most valuable items are listed first, and the text is coloured by value:
| Colour | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Purple | Rare and unique items |
| Red | Worth 10,000 coins or more |
| Orange | Worth 1,000 coins or more |
| Yellow | Worth 100 coins or more |
| White | Everything else |
Switching Stack Tooltips on reveals more options beneath it:
| Option | Choices | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Stackables | On / Off | Include stackable items, such as runes, arrows and coins |
| Non-stackables | On / Off | Include items that do not stack |
| Wield or wear | On / Off | Include weapons, armour and jewellery |
| Food or drink | On / Off | Include anything that can be eaten or drunk |
| Position | Bottom / Top | Whether the label sits below or above the pile |
| Range | On your tile, or 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 tiles | How far from you labels are shown. The default is 4 tiles. |
| Opacity | 0% to 100%, in steps of 20% | How dark the box behind the text is. At 0% only the text is drawn. The default is 40%. |
An item is left out if any category it belongs to is switched off – a sword, for example, is hidden by either Non-stackables or Wield or wear. When some categories are off the setting reads Partial.

Global chat
Global chat lets you talk to everyone on the server at once. There are two ways to use it.
The ::g command
Type ::g followed by your message:
::g selling 10k rune stones
Everyone sees it as [General] Player: message, with your clan tag before your name if you are in one. On the Android app, the on-screen Global button types ::g for you.
::pk works in the same way but sends to the separate PKing channel, shown as [PKing] Player: message. New accounts have the PKing channel hidden by default.
The Global friend
Every player has a friend called Global$ at the top of their friends list, which always shows as online. Send it a private message and the message goes to everyone instead – simply click Global$ and type as you would to any friend.
- To leave global chat, remove Global$ from your friends list, or type
::toggleglobalchat. - To rejoin, add a friend called Global, or type
::toggleglobalchatagain. ::gpshows these messages in your private chat tab, as Player tells [everyone]: message.::gqmoves them back to the quest tab.::setglobalmessagecolorfollowed by a colour code, such as@gre@, changes their colour. Use it with no colour to reset.
Rules and restrictions
- Before your first global message you must read and accept the rules. Type
::globalrulesto read them and::i_agreeto accept. - There is no level requirement and no delay between messages, but you cannot use global chat while muted or while on Tutorial Island.
- You never see global messages from players on your ignore list.
- Global chat is moderated, and staff can mute players from global chat alone.
::gcshows a summary of all of this in game.
Online list
To see who is online, open the settings panel, go to the Social tab and click Display online list, or type ::onlinelist. A window opens listing every player online, with crowns marking staff. Right-click a name to add them as a friend, add them to your ignore list or invite them to a party.
::onlinejust shows how many players are online.- The list respects your Allow private messages setting. Set to Friends, only players on your friends list see you in it; set to Off, nobody does. You are still counted in
::online.
Clans and parties
Up to 200 players can band together as a clan, with its own name, tag, ranks and a private ::c chat channel. A party is a smaller temporary group of up to 5, with ::p chat and optional loot sharing.
