Firemaking in Revival RSC is no longer limited to ordinary logs: every type of log can be burned, with better logs needing a higher level and giving far more experience.

This page covers what is new or different in Revival RSC. Everything else about the skill works as it did in the original RuneScape Classic.

Burning other logs

Use a tinderbox on any logs lying on the ground. Better logs also burn for longer.

Logs Firemaking level Experience Fire lasts
Logs
1 200 90 seconds
Oak logs
15 300 110 seconds
Willow logs
30 450 130 seconds
Maple logs
45 675 150 seconds
Yew logs
60 1,012.5 170 seconds
Magic logs
75 1,520 190 seconds

Ordinary logs now give a flat 200 experience, where the original game gave more at higher levels.

You no longer have to drop logs first: use a tinderbox on logs in your inventory and they are dropped and lit for you. Firemaking then repeats by itself – after each fire you step aside and the next log is lit automatically – see batched skilling.

Firemaking cape

The Firemaking cape, bought from the candle maker in Catherby at level 99, has two effects:

  • Fires you light burn for much longer – twice as long for ordinary logs, and five and a half minutes for every other type.
  • Its right-click Combust option lights a fire where you stand with no logs or tinderbox. The fire lasts 90 seconds and cannot be lit underground.

Tanning hides on a fire

Fires have a new use in Crafting: a treated hide can be used on a fire or fireplace to turn it into leather, as an alternative to paying a tanner.
